TextLens API uses rule-based algorithms (Flesch-Kincaid, AFINN, TF-IDF) — not transformer models. The trade-off: completely deterministic output, zero cold starts, and a fixed JSON schema that never changes between API versions.

HuggingFace Inference API requires you to know the right model for the task — and each task (sentiment, summarization, keyword extraction) is a different model, a different URL, and potentially a different output schema. Adding text quality to your data pipeline
HuggingFace Inference API is excellent for semantic tasks — but it wasn't designed for content quality scoring in batch pipelines. Cold starts on the free tier can stall an otherwise fast pipeline. And if you want readability alongside sentiment, you need a separate model call, a separate response parse, and separate error handling.
